The day I made it

Haleakala, Maui

You drive from the beach to the summit of Haleakala in a couple of hours and land on what looks like Mars. Red cinder, no plants, and the cloud layer sitting below you. We drove up for sunset. The light goes long and low across the crater, and it gets cold fast once the sun is down. I like this one because it's the least "Hawaii" picture I took in Hawaii.
